The Angolan Insurance Regulation and Supervision Agency (ARSEG) has announced that a group of Angolan insurers, led by ENSA Seguros, S.A., has applied for authorization to set up the first reinsurance company under Angolan law.
This pioneering initiative in Angola is a clear demonstration that the insurance and reinsurance market is constantly evolving and that its stakeholders are increasingly committed to meeting the needs of the sector, especially with regard to local retention capacity, recalling that insurers currently turn to international partners to take on reinsurance, implying an outflow of capital.
